The Gaiastar Codex
Published in Paperback by Pomegranate (01 September, 2000)
Average review score:

Magical healing imagesI first bought a copy of the Gaiastar Mandala book and after lending it to an artist friend who so loved it, I was reluctant to ask for it back. So I replaced it with the Codex cards and found the mandala like images were also wonderful in this smaller card format. I so loved the images that I took them with me to writer's conference and shared them with friends. I bought a second set and have decided to put them in my holiday cards this year as a small gift of beauty and healing from the earth, Bonnie Bell and David Todd the cards' creators, and me. Put one or two where you can see them daily; they do awesome things to your mood.
The Gaiastar CodexI have worked with many divination systems, but this one is truly special! The quality and content of the cards are exceptionally beautiful. I love the use of natural objects in the making of the card mandalas and images. The content and organization of the book clearly demonstrates the authors' knowledge and love of our sacred planet Earth. It is both thought provoking and beyond the thinking mind. If you like nature photography, mandalas, and meditation, you'll love this set.

GaiaStar Mandalas: Ecstatic Visions of the Living Earth
Published in Paperback by Pomegranate (September, 2001)
Average review score:

Showcasing gorgeous natural MandalasGaiaStar Mandalas: Ecstatic Visions Of The Living Earth by print artists Bonnie Bell and David Todd is a simply beautiful, full-color artbook showcasing gorgeous natural Mandalas celebrating the beauty and harmony of our mother planet. Although there is a brief text introduction, the majority of GaiaStar Mandalas is given over entirely to breathtaking color photographs of superbly presented art. The rich, vibrant color and texture patterns inspired by a multitude of cultural traditions are most impressive in this wondrous and unique gallery.
Mindblowing MandalasI became enchanted with mandalas a couple of years ago while seeking a means to occupy my mind and hands while suffering through a rather nasty allergic reaction characterized by incessant itching. I turned to coloring with felt markers and especially enjoyed stained glass patterns. Many stained glass patterns are, in fact, mandalas so I progressed to mandala pattern books. I found mandalas blissfully calming which led to research on the subject and ensuing mandala mania. I've colored and seen a lot of them and can say without reservation this book has the most fascinating, breathtakingly gorgeous, engrossing and inspirational
collection I've ever seen. No, it isn't a coloring book. It is, rather, an exploration of the natural patterns found both within and without. I now itch for more.

Ghosts for Breakfast
Published in School & Library Binding by Lee & Low Books (October, 2002)
Average review score:

Good for parent and childThis children's book is a delight and should be shared with parent to child of any cultural background as it evolks the unique community of Japanese American truck farmers in the early years of the 20th century, as well as a father's sense of fun and adventure with his son.
I especially liked Terasaki's matter-of-fact descriptions of the Japanese American farm life as he tells his story, from the food that they eat and grow, to the subtle language and word usage that is uniquely Japanese American. But persons of any cultural background will appreciate the father's quest with his son to discover the 'ghosts' in Farmer Tanaka's field. Anyone who may have played hide and seek at night or flashlight tag as a child, will remember the sense of adventure and spookiness of playing in the dark. The father and sons search for the "ghost" brought that to mind to me. Except that this son had his father to explore, guide, protect and even laugh with him in this quest. Any father would do well to read this book with his young son.
Shijo's illustrations are a delight and make the story fun and alive.

Tasty treatGhosts for Breakfast is perfect for Halloween, or any time of year! It has all the elements young children, and the young at heart, love: beautiful illustrations that support the clearly told story, humor, and gentle fright/suspense. A winner for first time author Stanley Todd Terasaki and illustrator Shelly Shinjo.

Group Harmony: Behind the Rhythm & the Blues
Published in Paperback by Hamilton Printing Co (April, 1996)
Average review score:

A quinessential treatise of the genreInformative, heartrending, and honest; I laughed, I cried, and now I understand. Finally, these cultural pioneers were afforded a forum to tell their own stories. Bravo, Mr. Baptista!! I want more!!!
Very informative, educational, and detailed.I learned much about the vocal groups as well as the music of the 1950s. It was disappointing to learn that many talented performers were not given proper credit and royalties for their songs in those days. It was very encouraging, however, to see that for most of the groups, it was the music that motivated them, rather than the money. I learned to love and appreciate their music. Not only did I read and discover new groups with whom I have been previously unfamiliar (i.e. the Bop Chords), but I have discovered extensive discographies of groups I already knew of, such as the Spaniels, El Dorados, and the Silhouettes.

The Hemp Cookbook: From Seed to Shining Seed
Published in Paperback by Inner Traditions Intl Ltd (01 October, 1999)
Average review score:

The Hemp Cookbook: From Seed to Shining SeedThis is by far the best hemp cookbook that I have seen.
I appreciated the author's research on the nutritional benefits of hempseed and hempseed oil. The Mashed Sweet Potatoes (with hempseed oil) recipe will change our family tradition of "Southern Yams" for the holidays.
This is a keeper!

A Soulful JourneyThis book is a soulful journey into the heart and mind of a man committed to his craft. It is the most well-researched book on the topic I've ever read.
It is an education in the science of vegitarianism, as well as a good read for those who are vegan-wannabees. The recipies are wonderful.
I wish I could send a copy to every member of Congress. Reading it would convince them to repeal the anti-cannabis laws of the '50s.
I anxiously await a sequel.

Here Comes Heavenly: Dance Magic
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (December, 1999)
Average review score:

PLEASE READ THISThis was by far one of the best books I have read. Believe me I've read a few. All of the books are outstanding. I wish he would write more. You really had a chance to think. Personally I wish it was Kit instead of Jessica(You would have to read the books to find out what I mean)
All in all I wouldn't change a thing except for the fact that there aren't anymore in the series.

Here Comes HeavenlyThis is a great book. Tyler, Sammara, Robby, Kit and Chance can never keep a nanny. That was there 6th nanny in 2 years. After the last nanny left, suddenly Heavenly Litebody appears and know even thing about the children. She made them breakfast and bossed them around like she was there nanny. She even knows the secret password for the alarm system. We all wonder wear she came from, who hired her, and how she got in the house?

High-Impact Training : Getting Results and Respect
Published in Hardcover by Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer (February, 2000)
Average review score:

High Impact Training is a must.If you are a user or provider of training, High Impact Training is a must read. In my experience as an organizational psychologist, I see few tools more misused than training. Lapidus has identified the root causes of most of those failures and has prescribed a systematic solution to many ways that the training solutiuon can go wrong. The book is clearly written, laced with stories that elucidate the importance of the approach Lapidus takes. He integrates the whole in a model that makes it easy to program a training approach and get results. There is no wasted fluff in this book. Every page has value. Its just like all other wisdom, however, we'll have to apply it to get the results.
From The AuthorAfter 22 years of practicing the art of training and developing learning interventions, I wanted to explore two themes: 1) why so many training interventions are met with resistance and 2) how to generate improved levels of partnering and respect from the operating departments we serve.
This book and the model it presents are the result. The book is filled with real hands on examples that have worked for me. It is my hope that by reading this book you will be more effective with less effort and your work will be honored and appropriately recognized.

How to Cut Tuition: The Complete College Guide to In-State Tuition
Published in Paperback by Atlantic Educational Pub Llc (October, 1997)

The key to minimum college costs! After reading Todd's book on cutting college costs, I knew I had to share it with my high school students. His book is an easy to read, step-by-step guide that is long over due. Too often young adults simply don't know where to begin when establishing their residency bid, but have no fear Mr. Daryl Todd Jr. is here! I would recommend this book to anyone who desires to go to college out of state, but does not have the big bucks.
Excellent resource for all students!!Daryl Todd's book is a lifesaver. I thought I'd never find a way to afford college. It's easy to follow, direct, and manageable. It's something I'd buy anyone wanting to find a way to get an affordable college education will out mortgaging their future to loans. Great Christmas gift!

Hunterdon County : A Millennial Portrait
Published in Hardcover by Aesthetic Pr (15 November, 1999)
Average review score:

A Native's ViewAs a native of Hunterdon County, I found this to be a beautiful preservation of the present day quaintness of our area. Mr. Chorzewski's camera captures the charm and ambiance which gives us a warm feeling. It is so comforting to turn the pages of this book and see one crisp colorful photo after another of the familiar landscape compositions and faces of friends. All too often I am caught up in the day to day rush of life and see only the increase in new developement and added traffic that our "quaintness" has attracted over the years. This book allows my eye to zoom in on the positive and has preserved the heart of Hunterdon in pleasing pictures! This is a book I will use an an "escape" for myself. This is also a book I will save as a bit of our family's heritage for my children who are my family's 6th generation in Hunterdon!
HUNTERDON COUNTY: A MILLENNIAL PORTRAITTHIS BOOK IS A VISUAL TREAT. THE PHOTOGRAPHER DID A GREAT JOB, CAPTURING COUNTRYSIDE AND SMALL TOWN SCENES THAT ARE PART OF MY DAILY LANDSCAPE. IF I DIDN'T LIVE IN HUNTERDON COUNTY ALREADY, THIS BOOK WOULD MAKE ME WISH I DID. IF YOU'RE NOT IN LOVE WITH RURAL LIVING, PERHAPS YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS ON THIS.
